A recent Air Quality Index analysis was of 100 cities in the US measured a snapshot of ground-level ozone, particle pollution, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide. The analysis also weighed in how often the Environmental Protection Agency rated the Air Quality Index as "good" or "bad" in 2005. Additional considerations included traffic congestion and thus traffic pollution as well as real world effects resulting in asthma rates tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
